Transition Terms & Conditions 09/22

As a small independent business, we are reliant on every booking and our clients’
continued support to keep us thriving. We advise all clients to read through the clinic
terms and conditions before making a booking. These are put in place to safeguard
Transition and to ensure the best standard of service is offered to each of our clients.
When booking an appointment, you are agreeing to the Transition terms and conditions
stated below. Please be sure before booking and double check your dates.

Appointment confirmation:

An automated appointment text will be sent to the mobile contact number stored on our
client records 48 hours prior to the booked appointment; we also will know if this text has
been read. It is the responsibility of the client to inform us of any change in contact details
when possible. Transition takes no responsibility for unreceived appointment texts and
urges all clients to always add any appointments to your personal diaries as a backup.
You will also be offered the added option at booking of an email appointment reminder.

Parking

We are lucky to have street parking around us, but we advise guests that ASDA Holbrook
Road PO1 1SL has three hours FREE parking and is a short walk from the salon. Farmfoods
has a car park opposite the salon but be aware of its strict parking rules.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellation Policy

Transition requires 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel all appointments. This is due no-shows with clients failing to notify Transition with sufficient notice. All
appointment slots in our clinic are in high demand. We can be informed of any changes
via our twenty-four-hour voicemail on the landline, our social media channels or email
hello@transitionsalon.co.uk. There is really NO excuse, not to be courteous.
If cancellation or rescheduling needs to be done on the day of the booking, this must be
done by telephone and calling the salon 02392 862100

Cancellation Policy – Beauty Essential Treatments

A deposit of £10 is required for all new clients booking beauty essential treatments in order
to secure your appointment. This deposit will be non-refundable if less than 48 hours’
notice is given to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This also applies to no-shows.
The deposit is redeemable against treatment.

Cancellation Policy – Pre-paid Packages/courses

If less than 48 hours’ notice is given to cancel or reschedule a treatment within a package
or course, Transition will regrettably have to deduct a treatment from your
package/course. This also applies to no-shows.

Cancellation Policy – Consultations for Permanent Cosmetics, SMP, IPL & Laser and
Plasma

We take a deposit of £35 for our consultations for  Permanent Cosmetics and IPL &
Laser. This deposit can be redeemed against a treatment or product. A £35 booking fee will be taken for any ACP appointments this is not redeemable.

Should you need to
cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask that you notify us a minimum 48 hours before your
appointment. Failure to give the full notice will result in the deposit being taken by the
salon. This allows us to manage our diaries and offer the appointment time to another
client while covering set up fees incurred.

Colour boosts will require a £25 booking deposit and are calculated in months from last
full colour boost or original procedure.

We reserve the right to refuse correction procedures from any other technician following
a consultation and the consultation fee will be deducted.

All ACP consultation appointments require an initial £35 booking fee.

As a gesture we do offer a FREE 15-minute consultation for all the above treatments, this
must be booked.

Cancellation Policy – Large Appointments

All clients booking an appointment block will need to pay a deposit as listed below.
1.5 to 2 hours ~ 25% of full amount.
2 to 3 hours ~ 50% of full amount.
Redeemable against treatment and lost if our required 48-hour cancellation policy is not
adhered to.

Our right to refuse entry

Transition reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who behaves in an aggressive
manner, displays gross misconduct towards staff and other customers and exhibits
threatening behaviour. Such behaviours infringe upon our rights as we are providing a
service on private property. We also have the right to refuse to carry out any treatment if
we feel the treatment is not suitable for the client and we feel we cannot get the best
result for the client.

Promotions

From time to time, we promote at a discount some of our seasonal services. These are
usually with selected therapists, please check this before booking. No other discount can
be used in conjunction with these promotions. We DO NOT give double discounts.

Missed Appointments

,We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of cancellation or rescheduling appointments.
Your deposit will be lost, and you will be required to pay another deposit to rebook, and
we cannot make allowances for illness (including Covid-19).
Please do not be offended if we ask for 100% of your booking up front as a deposit, the
money from our appointments covers our increasing overheads, and hourly expenses.

For clients who fail to turn up for an appointment duration of one hour or less – OR – those who cancel a booking with less than 48 hours notice on TWO or more occasions, we reserve the right to take the full treatment price as a booking fee to secure any future booking. This booking fee is non-refundable and we ask that you check diaries before making any booking.  

Over the phone payments

If you are calling the salon to book an appointment, we will take the deposit required
over the phone using a card.
For payments over £150 these will need to be completed in salon and face to face using
your chip and pin with the card holder present.

Gift Voucher terms and conditions

• Transition Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed online. However, they can be redeemed
for products and services in store.
• Clients are asked to protect their Gift Voucher and treat as if cash. Lost, stolen or
damaged cards cannot be replaced.
• The Transition Gift Voucher cannot be redeemed for cash or refunded.
• The Transition Gift Voucher is valid for the period indicated on the card itself. The
standard redemption period is 6 months from date of issue.
• Discounted Gift Vouchers will only be valid for the amount paid at purchase. Not the full
price of the treatment.
• The responsibility of using the Gift Voucher prior to expiry lies with the recipient of the Gift
Voucher. No pre-expiry reminder will be sent from Transition. The remaining balance after
the expiry date will be cancelled.
• The Transition Gift Voucher is not a cheque guarantee, credit or charge card and
cannot be topped up.
• When you use The Transition Gift Voucher, the amount of your purchase will be
deducted from the balance on the voucher. Change will not be given.
• Transition reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of the Gift Vouchers from
time to time where we consider it reasonable and necessary to do so. The current
conditions will always be available at www.transitionsalon.co.uk. This does not affect your
legal rights.
Due to Covid-19, all expiry dates on any outstanding gift vouchers will be extended for a
further 3 months.

Consent/consultation forms

Several of our treatments require you to fill out a consent form prior to the procedure.
These forms will be sent where possible via email to you prior to your appointment. This will
be filed for future reference and treated with the utmost confidence in line with the Data
protection.

Noise levels

We ask all of our clients to keep noise to a minimum during your visit and insist that all
mobiles are switched to ‘silent’ for the consideration of other clients receiving relaxing
treatments nearby. During nail appointments and pedicure appointments please refrain
from using your mobile phone during the allotted time in order that we can provide the
best service possible.

Refunds

All treatments are optional and, when agreeing to treatments, clients accept
responsibility for choosing those treatments,  you are responsible for understanding any side
effects, and agree to adhere to the aftercare instructions. Transition ensures that all
necessary measures are taken to provide treatments to clients in a safe, high-quality
manner. This involves performing consultations with clients, keeping up to date with
training and using high quality equipment, to name a few. Refunds will not be provided
for adverse reactions where treatments have been provided in good faith. If a client fails
to follow aftercare instructions and this affects the outcome of the treatment, a refund will
not be provided. In very rare cases where a refund is required this must be documented

Personal Items

We here at Transition want you to relax and enjoy your time here with us and so we ask
you to avoid bringing valuables to the salon, as we cannot be held responsible for any
loss or damage.

Children

Due to the nature of the treatments here at Transition and more importantly than ever
before the relaxation of our clients is paramount. Children are not allowed in the
treatment rooms. Please avoid bringing children below the age of 12 years into the salon.

Medication

If you are taking medication herbal or pharmaceutical, are pregnant, post operative or
have a medical condition, it is advisable that you consult your doctor before embarking
on any treatment. Some medical conditions may preclude you from having some of the
treatments, please discuss this with your therapist.
It is the clients’ responsibility to inform the salon of any changes to personal data and
medications.

Skin/sensitivity tests

If you are advised to have a skin/sensitivity test for your safety, this must be performed 48
hours before your scheduled service. Refusing or non-compliance will result in your
appointment being cancelled and your deposit lost.

Ladies Only?

We are an inclusive salon and welcome people of all genders. From time to time, we will
have men in the salon. If you wish to know if men will be in the salon at the time of your
appointment, please call us in advance.
